Choi Hung Estate, known for its vibrant, multicolored facade and basketball court photo spots, is often called “Hong Kong’s most beautiful public housing estate.” With red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple arranged in neat order, its exterior looks like a rainbow that never fades. Yet as the redevelopment plan is finalized, this rainbow, holding the memories of generations, will gradually disappear from the city’s skyline.
Before its reconstruction, we want to keep the rainbow close in a different way. In this workshop, we will combine the intangible cultural heritage of traditional bamboo weaving with the color palette inspiration of Rainbow Estate. Together, you’ll weave a rainbow fan charm filled with summer vibes, then add cord knots to turn it into a bag charm.
