In the interplay of light and shadow, create a blue memory unique to Sham Shui Po. Each participant will handcraft a one-of-a-kind blue cyanotype table lamp. The instructor will introduce this classical photographic printing technique from the 19th century and explain the production process and color mixing techniques.
The workshop is themed around Sham Shui Po, drawing inspiration from the area's distinctive elements, including fabric markets, Ap Liu Street, Golden Plaza, and vintage signage. Participants can select their favourite patterns from films featuring images of Sham Shui Po, then collage their personal designs, incorporating materials like buttons, wires, and metal rings to create a lamp that reflects their own style.
Each lamp is a memory of light and shadow; each print session is a dialogue with the city.
