Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. We are on a public mission to promote wider and strategic use of design and design thinking to foster innovation, create business value and improve societal well-being.

The Roles:

  1. Assist Project Managers in organising and executing programme events efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints;

  2. Collaborate closely with Project Managers on programme projects, events, marketing, PR and social media development;

  3. Conduct research, plan content, edit and proofread, and coordinate interviews to deliver promotional materials punctually;

  4. Support online platform and social media management, develop digital assets and promotional materials, and prepare presentation proposals to maintain high-quality content standards;

  5. Engage with programme partners, vendors, and Designpreneurs, fostering effective communication and collaboration;

  6. Aid in the preparation and management of programmes, events and workshops to ensure smooth execution;

  7. Support procurement, logistics, coordination, incubation recruitment, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting effectively;

  8. Oversee day-to-day operations and logistics of the programmes;

  9. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders daily to streamline operations;

  10. Handle programme administrative tasks, including reimbursement, document filing and record-keeping, and clerical support with precision;

  11. Handle ad hoc assignments as required.

 

Requirements:

  1. University degree or above or equivalent.

  2. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in design and in business management, administration, or hospitality.

  3. A background in the design/fashion industry, design-related start-ups, entrepreneurship, or business development would be beneficial; marketing, PR, and content and copywriting experience is an advantage.

  4. Strong verbal and written communications skills in both English and Chinese.

  5. Enthusiastic and versatile individual with a strong passion for design, deeply engaged in local and international design communities;

  6. Proactive, detail-oriented, responsible, and resourceful self-starter with a proactive mindset;

  7. Creativity, independent thinking, curiosity, and collaboration are key attributes;

  8. Strong problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines effectively;

  9. A keen sense of start-ups, design, trends, and technology is highly valued;

  10. Proficient in editing with experience in digital portal development being a definite advantage;

  11. Demonstrated research skills and familiarity with current digital tools for knowledge sharing are advantageous;

  12. Skilled in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, Mac Applications, and Chinese Word Processing;

  13. Proficiency in Adobe applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign, or being tech-savvy is a plus.
