Visited: 61606

Barney studied Textile and Design at the Royal College of Art in London and Fashion Illustration and History of European Costume at the Parson’s School of Design in Paris, before graduating from The University of Waterloo, Canada, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts Studio Option.

Since starting his atelier in 1993, Barney’s extravagant yet simple style can be seen not only on entrance-making gowns but also works perfectly on less formal garb such as exotic skin items, jewels and even uniform designs. His signature also extends to his famous cheongsam designs, which are often infused with a modern touch.

Barney creates aspirational designs, creations that are aesthetically pleasing, highly functional and sought after. His gowns have found kindred souls in the political, financial and social arenas: power figures like Deng Xiao Peng’s next generations; celebrities such as Michelle Yeoh, Gong Li, Shu Qi; and society heavy weights like Cathy Tsui-Lee and Eleanor Kwok. Barney’s gowns were also featured on the internationally acclaimed reality T.V. series America’s Next Top Model cycle 18 episode 9.

Nestled at the corner of Wyndham Street in Central, Barney’s atelier offers an haute couture experience. Besides from selecting a style from his current collection, Barney can also exclusively design any article of clothing of your choice and ensure flawless tailoring and fit.
