Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as a centre of design excellence in Asia. The Roles:
- Assist in planning and executing exhibitions, public engagement programmes and events curated by HKDC and/or partners;
- Assist in the interpretation of exhibits and perform duties as a workshop facilitator and guided tour docent;
- Content development for marketing collaterals;
- Coordinate professional service providers and liaise with internal and external parties including business partners, vendors, schools and cross-team & programmes communications in HKDC etc.;
- Perform administrative tasks relating to the curatorial process and meetings;
- Undertake exhibition/programme and content research, handle and execute effective project management
- Handle logistics and provide administrative support for efficient event management;
- Provide onsite support and management for exhibition and/or design-related programmes
Requirements:
- University degree or above;
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience in organising or curation of exhibitions and programmes. Working experience in the design, art or cultural field would be an advantage;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- Good understanding of the local design scene with board and a diverse range of cultural interests;
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in meeting deadlines;
- Experience in problem-solving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and being highly self-motivated and multi-tasking;
- Excellent communicator with proactive interpersonal and networking skills;
- Willing and ready to explore the use of digital tools or new technology to facilitate the programme;
- Willing to work flexible shift hours and days, including Sat/Sun and Public Holidays
