Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. We are on a public mission to promote wider and strategic use of design and design thinking to foster innovation, create business value and improve societal well-being.

The Roles:

  1. Assist the Fashion Initiative Team and collaborate closely with the Project Manager to organize and execute fashion programmes—including forums, exhibitions, networking events, and workshops—in Hong Kong and Mainland China, ensuring quality, impact, and compliance with governance and administrative requirements.

  2. Conduct research and provide support in building partnerships across Hong Kong and Mainland China, including but not limited to fashion retailers, associations, institutions, and related companies.

  3. Coordinate hospitality arrangements for speakers, designers, and other VIP guests.

  4. Liaise with strategic partners from both public and private sectors to secure sponsorships and/or marketing support.

  5. Manage logistics, coordination, liaison, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, ensuring all processes and documentation meet governance and administrative standards.

  6. Handle financial and accounting tasks for the team, including quotation comparisons, contract approvals, payment requests, and log sheet entries.

  7. Perform any other support duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor degree or above;

  2. 2–4 years’ experience in marketing or event planning, preferably within the cultural or fashion-related industries;

  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese;

  4. Proactive and resourceful team player with strong interpersonal and tactful communication skills, adept at engaging diverse communities, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

  5. Responsible and detail-minded self-starter with good problem-solving skills.

  6. Culturally sensitive with a keen awareness of emerging trends, social movements, and technological developments shaping the creative and fashion industries.

  7. Good knowledge of global fashion communities, industry events, and key players; stays updated on fashion trends.

  8. Interested in supporting the fashion industry and cultural exchange, with an understanding of Hong Kong and international fashion scenes.

  9. Adaptable and agile in dynamic, fast-paced environments, with a continuous learning attitude and openness to innovation.
