Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as a centre of design excellence in Asia. We are on a public mission to promote wider and strategic use of design and design thinking to foster innovation, create business value and improve societal well-being.

The Roles:

  1. Assist in planning, organise, execute and deliver HKDC programmes (includes community and public engagement activities) and other special projects on time and within budget;
  2. Handle logistics and provide administrative support, in accordance to company policies and procedures, for efficient project and event management;
  3. Proactively and effectively research, reach out, liaise and coordinate with local/overseas design organisations, partners, collaborators and community stakeholders;
  4. Assist in digital outreach like social media and website content management on programme promotion;
  5. Liaise and coordinate with both internal and external parties on daily operations;
  6. Coordinate all promotional materials and activities with related parties as well as on-site decoration at partners venue;
  7. Attend and assist in the activities and events related to the programme by request; and
  8. Perform ad hoc assignments as required

Requirements:

  1. University degree or above or equivalent in design, cultural management, event/ exhibition management, marketing, government relations are preferred;
  2. Min. 2 years’ relevant experience work experience in running programme related to design, arts and cultural education, brand development, event & exhibition, and/or government relations is an advantage;
  3. Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin);
  4. Bring a balanced approach with conceptual and practical understanding of design thinking process and the role of design activation and intervention projects for the benefit of different stakeholders and general public;
  5. Proactive, detail-minded, responsible, adaptable and resourceful self-starter with tactful communication and interpersonal skills to work among diverse stakeholders; and
  6. Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese Word Processing is essential. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and ability to integrate AI input into workflow is an advantage.
