Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. Responsibilities:

  1. Implement design talent development strategies to drive programme growth, participant, admission, administration, and progression tracking for Designpreneurs.
  2. Design and deliver structured training programmes and mentorship frameworks tailored to Designpreneur’s entrepreneurial journey and skill progression.
  3. Oversee comprehensive Designpreneur engagement, including enquiry handling, monitoring of talent performance, capability-building support, relationship management, competency assessments, and milestone reviews to accelerate their entrepreneurial development.
  4. Support viability assessment of business plans; liaise with panel judges and mentors to provide guidance and support entrepreneurial progression.
  5. Lead project management including budgetary control, timeline adherence, corporate governance compliance, learning outcome evaluation, and talent impact measurement.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to co-create talent-focused initiatives and seek cross-sector opportunities.
  7. Supervise funding reimbursement processes to ensure compliance resource optimisation, and alignment with talent development objectives.
  8. Ensure Designpreneurs stay on track with specific KPIs, including growth rates and long-term success metrics.
  9. The candidate will have the opportunity to meet the best emerging talents from the design industry.
  10. Perform ad hoc assignments as required.

 

Requirements:

  1. University degree with at least 8 years relevant experience in general management, marketing, event or project management in which at least 3 years at supervisory level;
  2. Practical experience gained in NGO/NPO, tertiary education institutes, professional bodies or public sectors is desirable;
  3. Substantial experience in entrepreneurship nurturance is an absolute advantage;
  4. Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  5. Strong strategic thinking, risk management and cost planning; and
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
