Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. The Roles:

  1. Manage library memberships, maintain an organized and up-to-date catalog system for books, magazines, and other design-related materials, ensure the library space is well-stocked, and conducive to a productive and inspiring environment;
  2. Collaborate with the team to develop and implement library policies and procedures;
  3. Oversee the material library, including procurement, organization, and maintenance of design materials;
  4. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure a diverse and relevant collection of materials;
  5. Collaborate with the design team to provide guidance and support in material selection for projects for exhibition and events;
  6. Organise talks, seminar, book sharing, mini exhibition and other activities;
  7. Assist in budget management for the library, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities;
  8. Prepare regular reports on library usage, membership statistics, and event attendance;
  9. Maintain accurate records of library transactions, including loans and returns;
  10. Provide administrative support to enhance operations;
  11. Perform other assigned ad hoc duties and projects as needed.

 Requirements:

  1. A recognised university graduate;
  2. Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in library management, event coordination, or a similar role.  Candidates with 2 years of work experience will be considered as Project Executive;
  3. Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese are essential;
  4. Strong knowledge and passion for design, fashion, architecture, and related fields;
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  6. Proficient in using library management systems and software;
  7. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills;
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
  9. Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service;
  10. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
